Through Apprenticeships, you not only 'Earn While You Learn', you gain highly-valuable experience that supports your qualification learning that truly strengthens your skills, confidence and knowledge.

The Apprenticeship Advantage

Choosing the apprenticeship route specifically offers unique benefits that a standard classroom-based course cannot match.

  • Earn While You Learn: You gain your Level 3 qualification without the debt of a traditional college course, all while receiving a salary.

  • Theory Meets Practice: You aren't just reading about educational psychology; you are seeing it play out in real-time. This "on-the-job" immersion often makes for more competent, confident practitioners.

  • Building a Network: You become a vital part of a school’s faculty from day one, building relationships with teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and parents.

A Foundation of "Deep Goodness"

Working in education, especially in a SEND capacity, isn't just a job; it’s an act of community building.

  • Impact over Profit: Unlike many corporate roles, your "KPIs" (Key Performance Indicators) are measured in a child’s confidence, a breakthrough in communication, or a student finally feeling safe in a classroom.

  • The Power of Advocacy: As an Additional Needs TA, you become the voice for children who may struggle to express themselves. You are the bridge between their potential and the world around them.

  • Daily Fulfillment: There is a unique sense of pride in knowing that your presence made a difficult day manageable for a vulnerable learner. It is a career built on empathy, patience, and kindness.

Career Progression & Versatility

A Level 3 qualification is a powerful "key" that opens many doors within the public and private sectors. The Sea View Trust also offers routes and qualifications to progress in your Teaching Assistant Role, with National Professional Qualifications and Teaching Apprenticeships through our Teaching School Hub and School Centred Initial Teacher Training branch, Embrace.
