New Alternative Provision Medical Free School in Blackpool
The Sea View Trust is absolutely delighted to announce that we have been successful in our bid to open a new Alternative Provision Free School in the latest wave announced by the Department for Education last week.
The Sea View Trust, in partnership with Blackpool Council, engaged in a rigorous application and interview process and we are confident that together, we will improve the lives of children and young people in Blackpool with medical needs.
The new AP free school will be based in Blackpool and will cater for 48 learners aged 7-16.
The school will support vulnerable young people who require specialist approaches to meet their varied medical needs. The Trust is committed to working with all stakeholders to secure an amazing education provision which will complement the existing specialist school landscape in Blackpool.
Our CEO Angela Holdsworth MBE has said “It is a great honour for the Sea View Trust to be recognised as having the skills and expertise to provide this much needed school. It is anticipated that the school will provide a range of wider services for the Blackpool community. As an inclusive Trust, we recognise this provision will support both mainstream and special schools in the Blackpool area.
We hope to work with stakeholders to identify a suitable name for the new provision which will capture the vision and values of the new school.
